Two weeks ago today, our VIP FAM trip winners and hosts were on a Virgin Atlantic flight from London Gatwick to beautiful Barbados to enjoy a spectacular 4 night FAM trip.
Here is a rundown of how our VIPs spent their time whilst in Barbados…
Our FAM trip winners arrived in Barbados around 3pm and transferred straight to their first hotel, Bougainvillea Barbados. After checking in, guests had free time to enjoy Bougainvillea Barbados followed by a hosted dinner and Site Inspection in the evening. One of the attendees described this property as a “beautiful setting with two beaches to choose from and tasteful décor. Good location as a base to see the rest of the island”.
Wednesday began with breakfast at Bougainvillea Barbados before heading to the WIIT Rum Adventure Tour. This consisted of a tour of the Mount Gay Rum distillery, St Nicholas Abbey and Cherry Tree Hill. The experience was a perfect opportunity for attendees to understand the history, culture and geography of the island.
Next, they headed to the East Coast of the island to Atlantis restaurant for a Bajan-themed buffet.
In the evening, our attendees then experienced Sugar Bay Barbados, a Site Inspection and hosted dinner before heading back to Bougainvillea Barbados for their second night stay.
An early start on Thursday, the group departed Bougainvillea Barbados to head to Sweetfield Manor for a six-course breakfast.
Site Inspection at Port Ferdinand was next on the agenda, followed by an optional experience of either kayaking or swimming with turtles, most of the group went for the latter activity and it turned out to be a highlight of the trip for many.
The group then experienced a sunset dinner cruise on-board Seaduced Catamaran. A great opportunity to sea the island from a different perspective and have a hearty Bajan themed dinner whilst having a few rum punches. Unanimously the favourite part of the whole trip. After the catamaran cruise the group checked into the second hotel of the trip Seabreeze.
Breakfast on Friday was at Seabreeze before a 10am pick-up for our attendees to head to the WIIT Island of Adventure Tour which was a jeep safari tour of the island, that took the group across to Eastern and Northern parts of the island whilst sharing the history and culture of Barbados. The group saw gorgeous beaches, plenty of wildlife, sugar cane and cotton fields.
Friday night had to be Oistin’s Fish Fry. Anyone who has been to Barbados has been to Oistins Fish Fry and is a must do for any visitor. It’s a rustic and musical environment where the main draw is excellent fish but ends up being a bit of a party and, in true Bajan fashion, a lot of dancing. A true feeling of local life.
The final day of the FAM consisted of free time at Seabreeze before the transfer to Grantley Adams International Airport at 2pm.
A wonderful FAM trip with a fantastic group of people. Thank you to all our attendees for your feedback and a special thanks to Visit Barbados for helping us organise the whole trip. It is going to be hard to top this one!
