- 24 July 2019
Virgin Atlantic are to resume Mumbai service after four years, doubling their services to India.
The new daily route is to launch from London Heathrow from October 2019 and to be on sale from Tuesday 28 May 2019.
The first service from London Heathrow to Mumbai, India is set to take place on 27 October 2019 and will complement the airline’s long-established route between London and Delhi.
The daily service will not only enhance a vital link between India’s commercial centre and the UK’s capital. The new flights will depart and arrive at Heathrow in the morning to align with connecting flows to and from the US.
The Mumbai flights will be operated on Virgin Atlantic’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft, offering customers the airline’s award-winning Upper Class, Premium and Economy Light, Classic and Delight cabins. Virgin Atlantic offers a full onboard service in each of its cabins providing complimentary food, drink and over 300 hours of entertainment across films, TV and music channels. All of the airline’s 787-9 are fully Wi-Fi enabled, allowing customers to stay connected throughout their flight.
The new Mumbai flights marks Virgin Atlantic’s 27th daily service from London Heathrow and its third new route announcement this year. Flights to Tel Aviv, Israel are due to commence in September 2019, with flights to São Paulo, Brazil starting in 2020, marking the airline’s first venture into South America.
