As customer demand increases and passengers return in greater numbers, we’re working hard to ensure that the vast majority of journeys continue as smoothly as possible, with our flying completion rate over 99% to date.
To support overall operational resilience at Heathrow following recent capacity restrictions, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel one of our five daily rotations between London Heathrow and New York-JFK between 1 and 8 August.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these changes. Our schedule change policy allows customers to further amend their flights, should they wish, with no change fees or request a refund. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to affected customers.
Bookings affected by these changes will be updated in your GDS on or before Saturday 16 July 2022.
Virgin Atlantic stands ready to deliver its full schedule this summer. However, we support proactive measures being taken by Heathrow to reduce disruption, as long as action proposed does not disproportionately impact home carriers at the airport. Action should be based on thorough analysis showing the most effective measures to improve the situation and keep customers moving.
We sincerely value your partnership and understanding during this busy summer season.
Heathrow Baggage Issues
Due to significant Heathrow baggage system failures at Terminal 2 and 3, unfortunately a large number of customers’ bags have been delayed and not reached their flights in time for departure. We are working closely with Heathrow and doing everything we can to ensure that customers' bags are put onto the next available flights and returned as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that this has caused to affected customers. More information on how to log and track a missing bag can be found here.
