Virgin Atlantic have appointed a new CEO effective 1 January 2019.

Last week, Virgin Atlantic announced that Shai Weiss will be taking over from Craig Kreeger as CEO of Virgin Atlantic, following on from Craig’s retirement on 31st December 2018.

Shai has been working with Virgin Atlantic since 2012 as a board member and assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer in July 2014 before later becoming Chief Commercial Officer in January 2017.

Once the transition process has taken place, Virgin Atlantic will then embark on to the next mid-range corporate plan – Velocity! Velocity is starting in 2019 and is the expanded four-way joint venture partnership between Virgin Atlantic, Delta Air Lines and Air France-KLM to provide preferred choice for customers travelling across the Atlantic and offering the most comprehensive route network, convenient flight schedules, competitive fares and reciprocal frequent flyer benefits across all four carriers.

Shai has worked closely with Craig over the past five years whilst he has led Virgin Atlantic and now as a new project is beginning it seems like it is the perfect time for Virgin Atlantic to pass on this leadership role.
