Virgin Atlantic's A330 makeover...
- 07 December 2018
The first of four refurbished Airbus A330s has joined the Virgin Atlantic fleet as part of a £10 million investment. The aircraft has been retrofitted with the introduction of a Premium cabin, along with new Upper Class suites and a refreshed Economy section.
Premium features 35 seats in a dedicated private cabin with a 38" seat pitch and bespoke food, drink and service offering. The aircraft will operate on Caribbean services from Gatwick, along with a number of US flights from Manchester.
The A330's were drafted into the fleet in March to provide extra resilience due to global industry shortage of Rolls Royce Trent 1000 engines, used on the airline's new Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
All flights offer high speed Wi-Fi, power in every seat and the latest onboard entertainment with state of the art personal screens in all seats.
The planes were introduced to protect their flying programme with a commitment to bring them up to their high standards with their unique Virgin Atlantic flair.
Customer experience vice president Daniel Kerzner added, "The speed at which we've been able to totally transform these aircraft is phenomenal and is a true testament to our people and our passion to deliver a wow experience to our customers."
